Child & Adult
Care Food Program
TEAM’s
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provides cash assistance
(reimbursement) for nutritious meals and snacks served to children
(12 years of age and younger) and infants in licensed day care homes
according to USDA guidelines. Reimbursement is based on the income
level of the local geographic area, the child care provider or the
children in care. Up to two meals and one snack, or one meal and
two snacks a day can be reimbursed for each child. CACFP provides
supplementary services aimed toward ensuring the best possible nutrition
for the children enrolled in these day care homes.
Basic training is provided on meal planning, meal
service, menu compliance, and sanitation. Annual CACFP workshops
include nutrition, early childhood education, and small business
issues. CACFP also provides on-going help and support in the areas
of technical assistance, meal service monitoring, and listings of
resources available for health and nutrition workshops.
